Band Management

The Queen City Big Band is fortunate to be operated by a team of committed and experienced committee members.

John Callesen, our Chairman and band leader has been involved with Queen City since its inception.  He is business unit manager with Air New Zealand and brings considerable administrative and leadership ability.  John’s dedication to Queen City has been a key to the band’s long running success.

Chris Knight, our Secretary, treasurer and sound technician is an original member of Queen City and has also performed the role of Chairman.  He owns and operates a family horticultural business that employs 60 staff.
